I just don't think...

.....this music will go away in my lifetime. And that's probably okay. :)

This just feels good....

Oh what I wouldn't do to have people think this highly of me by the time I retire. Isn't that the goal anyway? To have people realize you really cared about them while we earn a means to an end?

Subject: Greetings!!!

Hi, Everyone!!! Thanks for adding me as a friend. I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself and my baseball school.
My name is Freddy Acevedo. I played in the Houston Astros organization for 7 years including two years with the Lexington Legends. I just opened a baseball academy called MSC Baseball School. We are located in Nicholasville and we have both indoor and outdoor facilities and can do either private or group lessons. We work with hitting, fielding, pitching, speed and agility. The cost for a private lesson is $35/hr. A group of two is $25/hr and groups with three or more are $20/hr. Half-hour lessons are available upon request. We offer two FREE half-hour lessons a month for all T-Ball players. Additional information can be found at http://www.facebook.com/l/481eb;www.mscbaseball.com. If you have any questions please e-mail me.

PS: College Baseball Camp coming summer of 2010, details to follow.

Thanks,

Freddy Acevedo

Car of the Future....

I really can't wait until this becomes a reality....not that I need anything more to do in the care while driving. But just think about what it does for all the riders in a road trip.

Could you be, won't you be......my Rotarian!

Here's an open letter to all Rotarians after our recent visit from Coach Cal. If you have any interest in joining or just visiting to check it out please let me know. I'll be glad to host you and get you one of the best lunches in town!

Don't forget, one of the perks of being a Rotarian is getting to see the football and basketball coaches speak before every season. Well...almost every season (ahhemm). :)

"To All Rotary Members:

What a great turnout for the Rotary meeting featuring Coach Calipari! Not only did we set an attendance record but we also used the platform to showcase the benefits of Rotary membership to over 200 guests, many of whom are now prospective Rotarians. Thank you to every Rotarian who invited a guest to join our meeting.

Coach Calipari seems to be doing everything right, but he particularly seems focused on top level recruiting as the cornerstone for bringing a national championship to Kentucky. We need to develop a similar attitude or “recruiting mentality” at Rotary in order to reach our goal of 400 members and to allow the Lexington Rotary Club to bring in talented individuals with energy and enthusiasm and which also allows our club to remain financially strong.

Please follow up with guests that you invited to Rotary and invite them to become a member. If you did not bring a guest, there is always an opportunity each and every Thursday to bring along a “five star recruit.” In order to make your job easy, attached is a membership proposal form which you can simply forward to your guest and ask them to follow through and join Rotary- after all, who wouldn’t want to be a Rotarian.

If you have any questions about Rotary membership, please feel free to contact our membership chairman, Jamie Schrader at jschrader@schraderllc.com."

Feed My Starving Children

A friend of mine sent this over today and it so warrants sharing. With so many people and organizations out to take care of #1 first, it's so refreshing to see so many people willing to volunteer at truly an inconvenient time. Now THAT'S a convenient truth!
